PA Emission requirements....
Okay guys, some direction and input would be great. Here's my situation. My car has a good inspection sticker til 3/10. I believe it was inspected before the engine swap that is now in it. There is a 355 in it, with no egr valve on the intake. Headers to small mufflers to pipe. No catalytics. No evap. No smog pump.
So my question is, what do I have to do here to make it pass PA inspections. I have tried googling the requirements, but what is the requirements to pass emissions testing for my car? I know it is just a visual test, not a sniff test. But since the engine is not stock, are the requirements still the stock components that came on the car in 83? If so, did 83 have a smog pump on the engine? I know the 87 350 did.
Any good links would be appreciated, I plan on doing whatever is necessary to make her pass inspection. Thanks guys.

It needs all the stock components. They are to be there and operating correctly, but they only check to see if they are there and hooked up. I don't know how many miles you drive a year, but if it is less than 5,000 you can get an exemption. That's how I used to get my '86 to pass, just kept the miles under 5,000.

Why not just drive it to a couple emissions shops and ask them. They'll tell you - they aren't to be scared of - they're just wrench turners with certificates to do inspections. You might even find one that won't look.
I know at least 20 shops here that won't look, given that it's not a sniff test they just don't care.
