Hedman builds a 3rd generation 1 3/4 x 1 7/8 header that has the tubes exit into a "flat" collector. That is to say, all tubes are side by side, horizontal as they enter the collector. Thus, giving excellent ground clearance.

The design looks good and I think it will fit my combination well.

But before placing the order, do some of you know racers running this header?

 

Where did you hear about these? I didn't see anything on their website, and I am wanting to go to long tubes on my car to get away from my shorties and restrictive y-pipe. Can you provide a link?

Must use remote mount oil filter and mini starter(in notation). I haven't used them but they're intended for drag/race use.

 

Thanks for the quick reply, I will check them out. I already use a mini starter, so i would need to do the remote filter mount.

you'd be paying even more for a set of kooks, stainless works, or lemons...so i don't see that as too bad for a real race header. i've seen these before on the car, they work well. keep thinking one of the primaries does something weird though...can't remember, been too long since i've seen 'em.
