want to know how my headers will fit onto my exhaust?

i bought a pair of shorty hooker headers from a guy selling them off a 87 camaro...but when i looked on my exhaust they are not a direct fit....will i have to go back and cut the y pipe off the exhaust it was bolted too so it can fit mine?

If you mean that the headers aren't a direct fit because they won't bolt to your OE Y, then yes, you'll need the Hooker Y.

Since the Y was made for the Hookers, the seller won't need it anymore--and it probably should have been part of the package anyway. The answer to your question is yes.

The Hooker Y should bolt to the Hooker headers without issue. You may have to cut/weld/fab something at the converter; however, if it's a three-inch slip fit, you'll be good to go.

Re: want to know how my headers will fit onto my exhaust?

You have to fab a piece of pipe from the Y to the intermediate pipe.

Will it matter the placement where i connect the y pipe to the exhaust?
