Safety Inspection help - Ontario
Hey I bought my car and the catalytic converter was already removed and replaced with pipe. I am wondering if it will pass safety without it or will I need to get one.

In NS anything built before 1990 doesn't reqire a cat to pass inspection...not sure about Ont regs. I removed my cats but replaced the next year due to the smell!

I hope it's like that here. That would just be another days work getting that rusty crap to fit. Not to mention I would have to get a cat. If I had to get one I would just grab one off an old parts car and get rid of the cat all together when I decide its time for a 350

Any car in the US or Canada that required a Catalytic Converter will FAIL a Emission Test without one. Don't even waste your time & money even trying without one.

In Ontario, you need to have ALL the pollution equipment that the car came with originally.....so...you should put the cats back.
If you get pulled over by the MTO (for inspection) they will pull your plates and fine you.
I'd sugest some magnaflow cats. They flow very well.
