I love a good pair of tips!!!!!!!

Ill be changing mine soon, I dont like the current ones at all, i want to see some of the options out there!

How about Photoshopped ideas? I currently have these tips, but have thought of doing the notches like the WS6 4th gens in either black or body color.....

 

those are the tips with the "resonators" in them right?
does it make a difference in the sound?

i like both, so hard to choose!

 

Just the Magnaflow tips that came with the exhaust. Guy I bought the GTA from had the exhaust put on, so I dunno if they could be called resonators or not.

They aren't simply bigger openings. More like a double walled, sealed chamber....I think.

I can try to get better straight-on, daylight pics, if anybody wants, later.

Some days I like them, other days I think the round doesn't fit our cars. But the flat ones look even worse, IMHO, so I haven't changed them. Wouldn't mind doing my Photoshopped idea from above, or just a turn-out (not cut-out) to the side, in front of my right rear tire.

Removing those tips actualy made the exhaust a bit quieter!

 

just like factry..tucked up out of the way..you cant see them ends facing down on EA side..on cool nights, it looks fantastic.

That would look absolutely amazing!!! So, do you plan on ever doing this? or is it just a funny idea?

 

Are you running cats by an ychance and what type of transmission do you have? Do you have any other pics of your exhaust cause im really interested in doing side exhaust.

That's the way I like it. My 1987 Trans Am is done that way as well. My 1985 has no exhaust on it at all but that's how I'll set it up when I get to that point.

 

It would be nice if you would cout some of the bumper and tuck the tips morein.

i use photobucket and right click the picture and select copy picture location. then i click on the button under advanced post that has the mountains with the yellow sky (third on the right) and just paste the location. for the thumbnail pics i think you have to have the pics hosted on this site.

just running turbo mufflers, cats can be installed if needed. The drivetrain is ls1 with 4l60e. other pictures i have:


Used subframe connectors for the mounts. Easily removable if needed to.

 

Do you have a picture of the clerence you get from this? Like a left and right shot and a rear shot if possible I want to go with a set up like this.

I like that. Are you running 3" pipe all the way up to the engine?
Or just at the muffler? Hope you don't mind me using your idea. Love it.

There is not much clearance, you can use a smaller mufflers to get some more. It's not a daily driver and mostly auto-x car so i did not care about clearance that much. It still clears all the major dips in my area so it's not bad.

I've been looking at trying to do a GTO-esque tip set-up on mine. I am trying to figure out how to get around the spare tire well issue on the passenger side.

 

GTO-esque? You referring to the notched bumper style, like the 4th gen WS6?


I even had the idea of moving the license plate & useing the plate area for an exhaust exit.
