That is how I was thinking about doing duals in my car. Did you have to modify the frame rail in the front at all where they come around in the 3rd picture?

Re: Building my own true duals
there is quite a lot of room in that spot though, and some y-pipe setups, SLP, dons, edelbrock i think, use 2 pipes there already. you should know that

the slp's on my car have the dual pipes at that point, they are only 2.25, but with a better design, there is more than enough room fot fit larger pipes there.

Re: Building my own true duals
And that ladies and gents... THATS WHAT IM TALKIN' BOUT!!
Sounds very nice if you ask me. Thats exactly how i want my car to be set up when i get all done with her. Dunno if it will work seeing how im going to have to run 3" duals. 383 with a 177 street blower.. Actualy blew out the exhaust manifold gasket between the header and the heads a few times. Just cant get the exhaust out fast enough..

Re: Building my own true duals
About how much do you think everything cost, without the mufflers? I have a new Hobart and I'd like to build my own exhaust system, but only if it's cost effective against a prefabbed single pipe cat back system. Flowmaster sells a cat back for $289.

Re: Building my own true duals
I built the entire system including mufflers for less than $300. The subframe connectors are Chris Alston bolt-ins.
