Help a UK Camaro owner out

Hi Guys - I'm from the UK so finding people who know what they're doing with American cars is hard work over here! Plus I'm pretty new to the game so need some help to make sure I'm getting the right parts ordered (shipping is a hell of a lot of money so I want to get it right first time!)

I've got an 87 IROC pretty stock at the moment.

I already have a set of Hedman Hedders (68471) along with the O2 sensor bracket and the modified A/C Bracket all ready to install.

I also want to replace the entire exhaust system as well, so first off will this Hedman Y pipe attach straight to the Hedders? http://www.summitracing.com/parts/HED-17478/ or do I need this one? http://www.summitracing.com/parts/HED-17470/ How do I know if I need "ball & socket" or "3 bolt" flange?

As I'm in England, the emmisions aren't so strict, and I bought the car de-catted so I'm gonna keep it that way.

If I buy this magnaflow http://www.summitracing.com/parts/MPE-16829/ or this flowmaster http://www.summitracing.com/parts/FLO-17233/ Will they fit to the Y Pipe OK or am I gonna have a gap where the Cat should be? Is it easier just to put a cat in or what?

Ideally I want as much bolt together stuff as possible, so I'm not trusting a mechanic to fabricate bits and do too much welding..

.. and last question.. my Hedders are uncoated - is it ok to leave them like that (I'm presuming the black coating just burns off harmlessly?) Or should I paint it - if so, how do I get the black coating off the damn things?

Thanks a lot for your time guys

Re: Help a UK Camaro owner out

The headers you have (HD-68471) are a ball and socket type so you would need the y pipe that is for ball and socket (HD-17478).Not sure about the cat back, you can leave the paint on the headers as it will burn off the only bad thing is they will rust sooner if they are not coated.Keep in mind that both cat backs you listed are 3 inch and the y pipe the HD-17478 is 2.5 inches. Hope this helps.
