Re: cutout
Usually the cutout is mounted before the cat so the exhaust system can still be utilized when the cutout is closed. That way it can be loud or quiet (if cops are around) at the push of a button. I haven't put one on yet b/c my exhaust ends at the front wheel. When I put the exhaust back on, I'll probably go with the DMH electric cutout. It has a 4yr warranty and a lot of guys over at ls1tech are happy with them.

DMH here also. I have mine mounted to a stainless ypipe since my entire exhaust is stainless. It sits near the back...Im not running cats.
One thing...if you are using this on the street, you better put it back some, and put a turndown on it. Otherwise you will get exhaust fumes in your car.

There's a bump near the passenger side rear footwell area that it tucks up into nicely. But the butterfly opens up...which was another reason for putting a turn down on it.

Re: cutout
Thats kind of a cool looking unit. The only thing about it is... I wonder what the quality of the mechanics is. I mean, its shiney, and remote control. Extra stuff that makes me wonder what you are getting for $100...
Cant say anything good or bad about it.. Just dont see the reason to have wireless remote controls. The motor looks like a power window motor. So it should have enough grunt and reliability.
