I have a set of hooker shortie headers that I currently have on my camaro. And I need a y pipe... I looked at jegs and found the hooker y pipe that should for these headers for about 250. But I also found a y pipe made y dougs headers and it looked to be identical and said it was for all v8 third gens and it was over 100 bucks less... Does any1 have any experiance with this y pipe??? Will it work with my hooker shorties??? Any info would be great?

 

the hooker y pipe is probably made for those headers, the dougs pipe might be a factory replacement, you might want to call both of them and get more details

 

I have the hooker shorties. I saw the hedman y-pipe looked the same and was $100+ cheaper so I bought the hedman. Well after about 2-3 hours of some custom fabbing I got it to line up. We needed to extend the y-pipe. So if i had to do it over again I'd get the right y-pipe. Also the hooker y is 3 inch where my hedman is 2.5. Someday I'll have to replace it.

 

my hooker Y is a 2X 2.1/2" in to a 2.1/2" bend you better check with JEGS

 

I called jegs and the tech guy said it should work it will be in tomorrow.. so we will see... Bit I'm runnin a single 3in exhaust so I need a 2.5 into 3in collector.. I might just go ahead and order the other one and send back the one I don't use
