Hitting bottom of car
I had the cat replaced with a glasspack for a while and everything was fine. Then when I pulled it out this summer it would rattle under hard acceleration or if i was turning left. It kept getting worse so I had a cat welded on with a new hanger, this only made the problem worse.
As best I can tell the cat is hitting the shield above it despite it having at least an inch of clearance whenever I can check it (car stopped, running, in gear). It's so bad now that even under very lightest acceleration it hits.

How are your motor mounts? If they are shot, its possible for the engine to twist when you give it gas and cause the exhaust to flex up and hit the underside of the car.

Engine mounts I just had replaced this spring, right around the time this started happening...... I never did inspect their work!
I did check the trans mounts though as i changed the fluid this spring too and thought maybe I didnt tighten something up enough. They all seemed ok, few cracks in the rubber, but no chunks gone or anything.
