Custom Exhaust Ideas
I am looking into making my own GMMG style exhaust, because I can't even come close to affording the real thing. And I want to be different.
Anybody heard of these chambered mufflers

Or, what about using 2 of these http://www.summitracing.com/parts/SLE-31066/ in a similar setup as GMMG uses.
I am leaning heavily on using 2 loudmouth shotgun or bullit resonators like the GMMG setup uses 2 chambered mufflers. Its the least expensive option
Right now I have hooker shorties with matching y pipe, with the off road cat delete, this goes to a custom y pipe in back to make it look like I have duals. I have straight pipes and my exhaust is still quiet.

In my opinion you probably won't like the twin bullets, they are meant to be run further back, and if you install them where the muffler is now, it won't have enough tailpipe to properly resonate, would sound weird. A couple of people on here have made their own GMMG type exhaust, I would like to do this also someday, or try some glasspack mufflers and see how that sounds.

Right now, I have no muffler or cat.
Anyways, what your saying is, if the twin bullets are back by the gas tank they won't resonate enough because there won't be enough exhaust?
I would have the bullets mounted transversly, just like GMMG has it

Re: Custom Exhaust Ideas
By nature, they are resonators, not mufflers. If you look at a LM1 or LM2 exhaust, that resonator is directly below the rear seats, quite a ways back from the tailpipes. I've seen people put dumps right behind those resonators though, so I am sure it's more a matter of personal preference. But with no muffler and no cat now, anything will probably be, well, quieter

My exhaust it quiet right now...
So putting resonators on it won't make it louder?

How the hell is your exhaust quiet with no muffler or cat? My old LG4 car was loud with no cat and an 80's series. I'm missing something here

Re: Custom Exhaust Ideas
I guess I am used to extremely loud cars... or I like really really loud raspy exhaust.
I have a mostly stock engine. That probably doesn't help.
I heard a GMMG exhaust on a stock 85 Iroc this year, and it was almost ear splitting. Its significantly louder than my camaro.
I will see if I can put a video of my camaro up before I put it away for the winter.
