Passed emissions...with help

I was informed that my cat was rotten inside and that pieces of it broke off and partially clogged the exhaust, hence driving her felt kind of bogged down. After the car was fully warmed up, the cat would produce the same sound as denim jeans in a clothes dryer with the rivets and buttons hitting the sides and making that clanking sound, not to mention black chimney soot coming out of the pipes and collecting in little piles on the ground. I was also told that in no way was the car going to pass emissions with its current rotten exhaust.

After reading many articles here, I decided to go with a new magnaflow cat and magnaflow exhaust. The car sounds 100% better with a nice rumble plus feels like more power is present. Took her down to emissions testing and such. The guy was looking under the hood and following the emissions diagram and hose routing (maybe he didn't care but had to pretend to). After driving her rough on the dyno and checking the gas cap, they handed me a printout that stated it passed. I'm kinda shocked since I was told the AIR diverter valve was not working at all. Here are the test results just in case you guys wanted to take a look.

Re: Passed emissions...with help

When my car was bone stock, I passed twice without the air divertor hooked up. I had to replace my CAT also, and I did have my air pump still attached and basically ran the hose straight from the pump to the air connection on the CAT, so it pumped air to it full time. When I did it, I thought about the old saying - "the solution to pollution is dilution" lol. It ran clean and well within the limits.
