Hey guys, I think I've read about this before but I cant find what I'm looking for.
Where is the best place to weld in an O2 sensor bung in a set of headers. Application is an 87 tbi setup out of a pickup, running a 7477 ecm, they are long tube hooker headers, and also it is a single wire O2.

Just make sure it's far enough downstream from the collector that it's reading all 4 cylinders, and not just the 2 from the close side of the collector

 

I would not start drilling on the actual headers. To me it sounds like a horrible idea. Just get the bung welded on the merge pipe that bolt onto the headers.

Another thing is to upgrade to a heated o2 sensor, it was worth it for my application.
