open header exhaust question

Axle/Gears: 2.73
open header exhaust question

ok guys I got a 90 RS tbi, and I need new exhaust but cant afford for complete exhaust so can I just get headers and be ok? or the headers with a few feet of pipe running out the side behind the front tires? will this be ok for the car I'm a little lost about all this...

I did that once when I had to drive to the exhaust shop to fab up my y-pipe, it's very loud it's something I don't think you could drive every day.

it needs to be re-welded above the rear end and its got a line running down the bottomw where its cracking open would it be cheaper to just have it fixed for now? besides all the weld on the exhaust look like **** so why not a few more...

Start with a decent cat-back and you can add headers later when you have the funds.

any suggestions? I have flowmaster cat-back now, on a stock 305 tbi, anything similar or louder for a good price? thanks
