I have an 84 Berlinetta, it has a ruff idle and stalls when hitting the gas. From what I have read sounds like an EGR. Ohh also i'm throwing oil out the exhast like its cool leaving black line of carbon and oil about 100 ft long every time i pull out of the drive way. Any one can help me confirm this please. Or is it more ugly like burnt rings or valve seats?

 

running rich. probably a carburetor problem.

 

If the smoke is black your running pig rich - probably need a carb adjustment or overhaul. That would also contribute to the bogging off the line (which could also be your air valve tension).

If its blue smoke your burning oil. Bad valve seals will cause you to burn oil, but it usually goes away after you start driving. If its rings it'll always puff blue smoke.
