I have to get the noise out of my 82 Bird exhaust system I actually posted a few months back and end up replacing the SLP resonator with a Flowmaster muffler. The car is still too loud!! It still has a drone at 75 MPH.
The 82 Bird has a 350 TPI motor and 4 speed auto transmission.

So its look like the only way to go is back to OEM. In the process of looking at OEM style exhaust systems I came across Catco Catalytic Converters 4153 The CATCO 4153 is the dual stainless steel OEM style converter setup that was use on 89-92 TAs.

The price between dual vs the single converter system is less then $100. Would it be better to upgrade to the dual converter setup, thus replacing my single 3 inch converter with two 2.5 converters.

Has anyone on this sight purchase the Catco 4153 dual convertors as an upgrade?

 

Hi all,
I found out the Magnaflow also makes a dual cat setup. Cost is very similar to the Catco setup I have also read on this site that the Dual Cat setup makes about 10% more HP and TQ then the single cat. Well I know what I'm going to do.
