My duel exhaust

Just built a dual exhaust for my Hedman longtubes. Dropped my oil pan in the car as well and discovered I had a cuss load of slack in my timing chain, and my gear had nylon teeth. Put a new timing set and chrome cover on and put it all back together. Discovered that all the slack in my timing chain was adding up to 10 degrees of retarding. I used a couple 2 1/4 S bends, about 6 feet of 2 1/4 pipe, some cherry bombs, and a couple hangers. Sounds great and don't have any ground clearance issues thus far. Drove through a construction site with my brother in the car and my old cat and manifolds laying in the storage well and nothing hit.

Re: My duel exhaust

I like it! Really simple but it works. Would love to hear how it sounds. Almost seems as if it woukd be too loud

Re: My duel exhaust

Take a picture with the car on the ground to show the clearance.

Re: My duel exhaust

Yeah, I thought it was gonna be pretty loud as well. I talked to a guy in a muffler shop and he said that with 2 1/4 inch pipe it would be fine. It doesn't drone or anything. Just a deep hum while cruising.

I will get some pics during the day with it on the ground.

Re: My duel exhaust

This is the lowest part of the exhaust. I guess its not that great of ground clearance, but it hasn't hit anything. I can still drive it onto the hoist without ramps, and neither of my brother's Mustangs could. The exhaust rakes up a tiny bit as it goes towards the back of the car and its in there far enough that you can't really see it.
