History / OriginalityGot a question about 1982-1992 Camaro or Firebird history? Have a question about original parts, options, RPO codes, when something was available, or how to document your car? Those questions, answers, and much more!
Only 3,000 in '85. I thought it would be more. I would push that into very difficult to find territory, at least now in 2015. And red on red may add to the desirability overall. It it gorgeous. The best year for the IROC Z28. Best interior and exterior styling.

Would have been able to make more if the fuel economy standards were not being pushed as hard. LB9 was rated for more power, lower emissions, and better fuel economy so they started pushing it as the top motor and phasing out the carbed motors.
I wish the L69 was standard in the IROC's and Z28's. It's a very nice motor for the collection of parts that it is. There aren't many L69 IROC's left at this point which makes this car more rare.
Four last week is not typical in MN/WI. I can recall one this Summer in all of MN/WI/IA Craigslist searches. L69 IROCs. Although I may have missed a few.
I see you posted a while back about the nice IA Craigslist '88 IROC (automatic, L03) with LS seats and '85 shift ****, so I am interested if you saw yours in the IA area.
Not meaning to get off topic here. Still interested in locations of L69 IROCs.

the l69 irocs i saw were on craigslist all over the country ..
Attached is the only one I've noted on Craigslist since May in the MN/WI and some of IA area. Based on the tach it looks to be an L69. It is no longer listed. And with LS interior. I had the guys number just in case my purchase fell through (my 1984 L69 5 speed LS interior). Both were in the Green Bay, WI area.
L-69's were quicker than the LB-9's in 85. No 5-speed or 3.73's for the TPI 305 in 85 even though it was rated at 215 hp.
The L69 paired with the T-5 and 3.73 gears was a quick combination back in the day. I wish I had the room and the extra cash to get one of these L69 IROC's.
Only rated at 190HP I think they may have been a bit underated from the factory. Ive saw em run pretty close with 350 TPI cars in the 14.6 range years ago. Personally of all the 3rd gens ive drove an 84 L69 5spd was the most enjoyable one ive ever drove. In saying that,i have not had the luxury of ever driving an 89 Turbo Trans Am..
I have heard of this "WHITE BOOK" before, how can I find out how many of my car were made? I think my interior is limited, and the someone else said the gold rims were limited, not rare but limited. Also the radio delete and all the power mirrors and rear defrost and the clock... Just looking to see if there were Only 3000-4000 of my EXACT car made.
