Will ground clearance be an issue?
Right now I have a 700r4 with the TCI deep pan. How much more would a set of longtubes hang below the tranny pan? I am looking to be able to drive the car without bottoming out.
I have yet to scrape my tranny pan but I also don't drive where there are speed bumps. I have scraped my intermediate pipe (where it bends to go up over the axel) at one point but have since fixed that problem.
Thanks,
Chas

Re: Will ground clearance be an issue?
Long tubes with a 700r4 hang pretty low... Probably get 2.5-3" tops
The Y-pipe will have to be a custom design as there isn't anyone making one for our cars...
It's not that hard to do... but finding someone to do it might be the biggest problem....
I had a thread about the Y-pipe I built...

Who makes this "E-bay Longtube"?
There is very little room for error...
Even though people have pulled off the true duals, it's hard to do with ground clearance. There isn't very much room underneath these cars so you run the exhaust beside the driveshaft where you can tuck it up abit... and I may be wrong but I think a 3" single flows more than two 2" pipes.

if you are not afraid of grinding on your k member at all, i have a set of "ebay shorties" that are mid dump and may make it a little easier to fab a true dual with little clearance issue

The e-bay longtubes are made by OBX which is actually a ***** distributor. They are knock offs of the stainless works for a lot cheaper. from what everyone is saying they tuck right up under the car nicely but no photos for proof yet. I would run 2.5" which is more than enough for 1 header and won't completely kill my bottom end but I don't think I have to worry about that.
