What did you do?

Im trying to figure out my exhaust. I have a fresh 355 in my car and was brainstorming some exhaust ideas. I was just going to bring the pipes straight out and dump them but straight from the headers is the trans crossmember. I have to drop about an inch to clear. Not to metion ground clearence. I was wondering if anyone had this problem and what did they do. Thanks

Re: What did you do?

We don't know what headers you have. If you have long tubes, you are screwed for ground clearance. You need to build a y pipe to cross back over and have both pipes meet on the pass. Side. Or...

Running true duals is easiest with a Spohn trans crossmember with The notches in it for more pipe clearance. Then you can do an x pipe setup with bullet type race Mufflers and have them dump before the rear axle.

Shorty headers and y pipe are most convenient for ground clearance at the expense of.making less power.

Here's my dual h-pipe with magnaflow mufflers. The Trans crossmember is a recessed Hawks T56 for use with long tubes.
