Agressive Exhaust?

I currently have the stock mid pipe, with a home made y-pipe (Small and junky), Cat still in place, and a flowmaster 80 series with dual tailpipes (2.5") with 3" tips. Also have Shorty Flo-Tech header's.

Now, i have a 77 Trans Am with a Buick 455 (Bored, cammed, etc... Not Stock) with long tubes and dual 2.5" exhaust with Flowmaster 40's on it, and i absolutely love the sound of it.
Also have a buddy with a 97 Camaro with the LT1/Auto and he has a full Borla Cat-Back system that also sounds really good.

Basically, what can i do to make this Camaro sound anything even close to the other two car's? I know true duals arent really possible for me because i'm not much of a welder and local exhaust shops wont even attempt duals on this car.

There is no emmision's testing here, so i am wanting to get rid of the Cat, and maybe do 3" from the header's to the back and do some kind of muffler or mufflers that will make this car sound quite agressive and loud!! but not sound bad like as in open header's.

Any idea's?
I know i can look on youtube for sound clips, but there is just to many variable's when it comes to cars.

Re: Agressive Exhaust?

Anyone?
I had talked to an exhaust shop and they said my home made 2.25" Y-pipe, and cat-to-muffler piping is plenty for my car. I want it to be loud, like a camaro should sound. I was also thinking of adding an electric cut out once i change the exhaust to.

Re: Agressive Exhaust?

I have heard stock exhaust L98 cars with a LT4 Hotcam sound very aggressive. If you want your car to sound anything like your buddies then do what they did. Build your motor up or stick a decent cam that supports your needs/wants of your car.

Yes bolting up a expensive exhaust system will make the car sound more aggressive but not as a aggressive as a healthy cam. Just remember bigger is not always better.
