Exhaust leak made car feel smoother wtf?

So i lost 2 bolts from the flange holding my super 10 flowmaster (dual chamber) and it led to a pretty big exhaust leak. To my surprise the car felt like it ran a hell of a lot smoother.

Is a flowmaster super 10 really that restrictive? Honestly after feeling the difference i want to get rid of it.

The car has a mild 305 with shorty headers 2.5 inch piping exiting out the passenger side, as a side pipe. ( came like this when i bought it not a fan of it)

The super 10 has 1 3" inlet and outlet.

No cats.

Why is it that the car felt so much better with the exhaust half way disconnected lol? Does it have to do with the cfm rating? I know flow masters have pretty low numbers.

Im considering switching to a dynomax bullet, thoughts?

It could b that muffler or the 2.5 pipe, is it a single 2.5 pipe out? If soo I'd say that couldn't help...

All of it is 2.5" except the inlet and outlet on the muffler itself, the inlets are 3" single in and single out.

Yes its a single pipe set up.
