new exhaust system ideas
i currently have hooker shorty headers with hooker y pipe, to flowmaster american thunder exhaust system. i was having some clearance issues between the oil pan and y pipe, so i want to do a new exhaust system.
i want to get long tube headers, but i have a T5.
from there should i do a single exhaust out (use my flowmaster system)
or duals? my car is supercharged so i think it needs backpressure.
any input or ideas would be great

Ugh, here we go again on this back pressure crap.
No, you don't need a huge restrictive back pressure inducing exhaust. Supercharger is going to push air through the engine, you want it to get in and out in a hurry.
And, if you have a '89 with a WC t-5 that has a hydro clutch, you CAN run longtubes, my car has a mechanical clutch, and the z-bar is in the way of running longtubes.
If you are running decent horsepower with your setup, you should be running long tubes, and 2.5" true duel exhaust.
You could get away with good shorties, and go out to 3" or even 3.5" single exhaust.

No doubt.
If back pressure was good. The stock exhaust would be the best, haha.
You CAN go to big, you will lose a little bottom end torque, but gain top end power. The only thing you really need for "back pressure" is a good set of headers, for the scavaging affect. But when your boosted you don't really need that either.
