Ready to do my next modifications...

My first mod was just putting on a 80 series flowmaster.

Now I am moving on to headers and a new cat.

I just bought

-Hooker Super Competition Headers Shorty Painted 1 5/8" Primaries (comes with Y-Pipe)
- Link to this: http://www.ebay.com/itm/330678420344
-Magnaflow Universal Fit Cat 3" in and 3" out
-Taylor Cable 74206 Spark Plug Wires Spiro-Pro 8mm Red 90 Degree Boots Set.

All together cost me $628.67. Hope its worth it.

Now some questions:

1.) Is there anything else I need? I keep reading that I should look into locking bolts of some sort...but bolts come with what I bought?

2.) Do I have to replace the spark plugs? I had just replaced them a month ago anyway.

3.) Any other tips or advice?

Soak the header bolts as beat as you can with some penetrating oil like pb blaster. Soak em then let it air and then soak em again though out the night before you do the work .

beat? Also do you mean the header bolts that come with what I ordered or the ones already on them.

Last question: would it be worth my time to get these headers ceramic coated? Does coating really make it worth the money? The ones I ordered are just painted.

I beleave hes talking about soaking the stock bolts that have been holding on the exhaust manifolds for the last 27 years.

Locking bolts are a good idea. Ceramic coating is only a decent idea if you live in a very icy area that gets a lot of road salt & you drive your car in it. And you said you did a muffler, but did you change the cat-back? The small tubing & crinkle bends aren't the best idea & I woulda replaced the whole cat-back instead of just putting a muffler on the stock exhaust.

No I have not changed the cat-back. And I just got my headers, new Cat, and y-pipes, and wires for my spark plugs today.

Doesn't look like this is gonna be an easy task from top down...maybe I can get the car on a lift and do it from the bottom.

Anybody have an estimated time on how long this will take and possible complications I can run into?
