Re: Borla cat back install

Jack the car up high. Pull the driveshaft. Disconnect the torque arm. Disconnect the PHB. Lower the rear axle down by disconnecting the shocks, let it swing down hanging from the LCAs. Slide the cat back forward from the rear, slipping the intermediate pipe over the axle until it gets where it is supposed to be.

Fuel pump, universal joints, shocks, rubber brake line running from chassis to rear axle, brake pads/shoes/hardware, springs, the rubber pads the springs sit on if they're in bad shape, pan-hard bar/bushings, lower control arms/bushings, torque arm mount rubber isolator.

The rear springs won't "fly out". With the rear axle at full droop even with the shocks still connected, the springs will either barely be in there & could be pulled out or will fall out. So I wouldn't really have your head directly under them, just in case.

All the stuff that Heavy Thunder mentioned is stuff you can look at while your under there, but none of it is "required" to do while your there. But if any of it is "bad", you might as well replace it while your under there, if your wallet allows it.

Re: Borla cat back install

Yea that's true I found that the borla wasn't welded together it is clamped right at the bend going over the rear end so looks like just the phb an track bar will have to come outta the way the exhaust on the car now is a 2-1/2 inch with no cat the borla is a 3 inch so looks like I gotta put a adpater to actually bolt it up errr an clamp it all down then drive it over when it's on the road to get welded shut
