Hooker 2055 question

Hi, I just recieved my Hooker 2055 headers im pumped. My question is should I clean up the ports on the primary tubes? I fitted the gaskets on the headers and it seems i could port the tubes for some better flow. I am going to definently going to port the collector flange from 2.1 inch to 2.25 inch or so. Just curious if its worth the effort or if other members have done this before? Thanks

Re: Hooker 2055 question

Doing a little light grinding on sloppy welds is common. But take too much, you'll have heat cracks in no time. Your main concern is getting a flat mating so the gaskets will seal. The insides of those primaries is larger than the stock port exits of the heads, so no need to try much tapering.

Re: Hooker 2055 question

Which port size is correct to mate to my 081 heads (1.55" x 1.63" D port or the square 1.5" D port)? Im either getting Earls or Percy's. Would I be ok if I loctited (low grade strength) the header bolts. Thanks
