Dumping exhaust before rear axle?

Axle/Gears: Limited slip 2.77 gears
Dumping exhaust before rear axle?

Anyone done this I have a 1990 rs 305 and just wondering how it sounded and if you can tell a difference in peppiness

Yes they do that. You can go to the exhaust section of this forum and look at some pictures to see different ways to do this.

Not a good idea - you lose ground clearance and it will be a lot louder inside the cabin...

Done it with duals, it resonates inside the car really bad if you don't use turndowns. Sounds cool but gets old really quick.

Done it with a 455 HO in a first gen F'bird convertible. It sounds epic especially if you get to blast it in a tunnel. Then pretty soon it drives you crazy! I did 400 freeway miles and didn't want to drive it again for days. If you want the great sound just idlling around town but don't want to sound like you're inside a drum all the time you could think about cut outs before the axle but keep the rest of the muffler in back.
