2 possible exhaust systems?

I need a new exhaust system for my LG4. I have a set of Hooker 2460 headers (no y-pipe) and a set of Flowtech 11102 headers with 2.5 inch y-pipe. Is it worth it to order in the Hooker 16767 y-pipe to use the Hooker headers or should I just use the Flowtech system? Currently stock LG4, but planning on carb tuning and cam and head upgrades sometime soon.

What is the hp difference between these systems? Would it be noticeable on a stock LG4 or only after the upgrades?

Re: 2 possible exhaust systems?

Bump. I need to know if it is worth it to upgrade between these two options on an LG4.

1) Flowtech headers w/ 2.5" collectors, 2.5" non-upgradeable y-pipe
2) Hooker headers w/ 3" collectors, 2.5" y-pipe with option to go 3"

Are you sure you don't have Flowtech headers? I am 99% sure Flowmaster doesn't make headers for Thirdgens, or ever has.

On a stock auto LG4 I doubt you'd notice the difference.

Okay, thanks. One day I'll be looking into heads and a cam. Would I notice a 3" y-pipe then?

Re: 2 possible exhaust systems?

If you are doing heads and cam you would be much better served in starting with a 350 block.

But yes, at that point, you'll probably notice a difference.
