Opinion on muffler type?
Hey everyone, I am finally coming home from deployment! I had my wife put the car in the shop for some minor repair work to get it up and going again before I get home. Anyways when I get home I plan on installing some Hooker 2460's with the Y-pipe, I plan on modifying the y-pipe so I can run a true single 3in exhaust. Not reduced down to 2.5in. I was hoping to get everyone's opinions on a nice deep low sounding cat-back that wont hurt performance. Now keep in mind I would like a deep low sounding idle but I would like to hear the ponies scream when I get on it. So if you guys don't mind giving me your opinion on some options and setups to complement my hooker 2460's. Thanks!

So that came with everything needed to get the pipes to the hooker y pipe? Looks sharp I might add!

yes all the way to the single cat(you have to buy your own cat ) . it'a polished stainless the whole thing not just the tips .it is getting louder as i get miles on the car . i think it has the second best sound first being a borla .
yes better throttle response. i done the headers an cat back within weeks of one another . an the combo produced the best results .

I would also recommend looking some sound clips up on youtube of the hooker aerochamber. That might fit what you are looking for.

Re: Opinion on muffler type?
I notice you ran a 4.3 serp system. I have one as well. I do not have the AC connected yet. Are those custom lines or did you find them to work from a s-10 or something?

Re: Opinion on muffler type?
Magnaflow 4x9 case may work. Or the dynomax ultraflo series. I had single 4" with ultraflo and i would say it was a deep idle sound. Was loud tho

Call Bruce or Stephen at Hawk's Third Gen. They have my old exhaust for my 355. It's Hooker long tube header, 3" Y-pipe into 4" mufflex pipe into spin tech muffer to dual 3 1/2" tips. The whole system has been Jet Hot coated. Great deep power sound.

Looks good. But I rather piece it together myself. It looks like right after your flanges the piping is slightly crimped or flattened. What was the purpose of that might I ask. I assume for clearance issues but wont that defeat the purpose of the exhaust and work as a choke point?

Re: Opinion on muffler type?
Its flatten alittle, made that way for clearance under transmission cross member. All Y pipes have the same. The problem is that our cars were not made for exhaust like that. As far as a choke point. it only flatten about about 1/4 to 1/2 in, the coating makes look alot more. I think the only way to get around it is to go with a 2 in Y pipe and maybe it'll fit but alot less flow.
