longtubes and crossmember clearance

Just fired my 355 build and started on the exhaust (longtubes) and hit a problem. I have a th350 with a bmr crossmember. The collector is not far from the crossmemember. i was gonna just drop it down around the crossmemeber but then ground clearance issues. Just sitting here thinking I may be able to run a 45 from the collector then just run the exhaust up the side but not next to the car to measure. Just curious if anyone else had this similar set up and what they did?

Unfortunately I don't have any help for you but I am curious about whether or not you got ot figured out. I plan on running longtubes on my car and a th350.

Re: longtubes and crossmember clearance

I was reading a thread about longtubes and automatic cars and I didn't see much about people getting around it. I might not have read far enough. I'm think long tubes might be a little overkill for my car anyway.

if you can get away wiith shortys do it because this is an issue. I read some notched the crossmemeber but I had this custom made so not trying to cut up a good chunk of $$$

Re: longtubes and crossmember clearance

Hopefully you can find a way around it after spending the money on a custom crossmember. I'm just putting a fairly stock 350 in mine for now so like I said long tubes aren't completely necessary.
