Batltle of the chambered mufflers: Cherry Bomb Extreme VS Hooker Arrow chamber
I have LTs and a mufflex Y-pipe (open).
and I LOVE the sound at WOT but id like to quite it down "abit".
I don't want to loose the way it sounds, as it is really only loud at cold idle.
Now, the pan is to (since the Ypipe is 4" out) I have a cheap hardware store 4-3" reducer $5 (mufflex wants $45 for their reducer which comes with a gold plated AR15

)
Any who, I still have my Magnaflow cat back (for sale btw $150 shipped) but Iv decided to go a different way. What I want to do it hook chambered muffler up to the reducer and let that be it. whats left to do (besides sell said cat-back) is to decide which chambered muffler I should get, the cherry bomb, mainly for its small size OR the hooker arrow chamber. IDK about the Hooker, when I looked it up it more of a mix (on the inside) between a chambered which is just that and a regular muffler style which has what ever mess company decideds to put it, thus changing the sound characteristics.
What do you guys think?

If your going single in/single out I recommend the hooker max flow over the aero chamber. Not that the aero chamber is bad, but the max flow will flow better, quieter at idle/cruise, and louder at WOT. I have the max flows on my monte, and another pair sitting in the box for my 2010 ss. I have a few friends with the aero chambers and they all sound good as well.

Price is not too bad either.............just extend ypipe down trans tunnel and place muff before rearend with a turn down......

I have seen them fit. And like many aftermarket stuff you may need to modify a little. I personally vote for aero chamber. I love that muffler. I bought a single in and out 3 inch used and decided to put on my Tahoe. It has otherwise stock exhaust and it came out to be the exactl volume I wanted and not took loud. At idle, a nice rumble and cruising around it just rolls. The only thing I don't like is WOT it pops like a glasspack. I would be willing to bet that it's because of the stock 2.25 pipes and manifolds not the muffler. I heard this same muffler on an ls1 f body(who I bought it from) with headers and it was much louder and no popping
