TPI exhaust question

I replaced the weenie V6/TBI/carb intermediate pipe in my 88 with the larger one (walker 46669) for the TPI cars. I have a question regarding the positioning at the rear as it relates to the rear suspension.

Is my intermediate pipe supposed to sit right on the track bar brace? I know I don't have the rear int pipe hanger installed yet (the one bolted to the body...I do have it, but need this answered first), but it seems kind of like the hanger that's welded to the pipe isn't bent right? The pipe IS currently sitting on the brace and it doesn't seem to want to move much. If (and I'm sure I am) I'm supposed to have clearance, how much? It's not in the service manual. I already am pretty sure that I'm going to need to bend the welded hanger.

Re: TPI exhaust question

No, it's not supposed to contact the panhard brace, or anything else for that manner.

Re: TPI exhaust question

About how much clearance am I looking at? 1/2 to 3/4 of an inch?

Re: TPI exhaust question

When I installed my Walker mid pipe it hit the track bar brace until I brought the car to the exhaust shop and had it positioned correctly and welded up. Once you have all the hangers in place you can adjust it until it sits correctly. If you have to you can also bend the rear hanger a bit to get it to sit right.

Re: TPI exhaust question

I only have about 3/4 of an inch clearance there.
