will this make my exhaust sound any louder/different
91 bird. 305 tbi. I'm running the flowmast cat back exhaust (3inch pipe from cat to single flowmaster muffler with dual outlets) if I run straight pipe from the headers to the muffler (get rid of my catalytic converter) what difference is it going to make in the sound of my exhaust.. will it be louder/deeper/more aggressive. . How much of a change if so? Anyone running this setup? Thanks

I have stock everything except no cat. Here is it idling. With throttle it just sounds weird to me for some reason. Not a fan of the sound compared to others I have heard that had cats.

i ran my car for a while with a straight pipe replacing the muffler.the cat quieted it down enough.unfortunely i had to reinstall a muffler at inspection time because of state law.

I used to be in the camp of removing cat's, however I've switched sides and say replace it with a high flow unit, something like Magnaflow offers. I had one on my old '91 RS, and I couldn't notice a power difference or a difference from running straight pipes. After running in downtown Naples Italy, where the cars have no emissions equipment what so ever, my lungs are burning after running. IMO, I'd say replace the original with a better piece.
