4" For Fun

So I've been missing for quite a while on this board. (Married, kid, house, remodeling etc. )
I finally pulled the Camaro out of almost four years of storage and fixed all sorts of small things.
Then I felt with having the 70mm Turbo online it was time to ditch the Cobbled together exhaust I hade before for some 4"

The system is comprised od a few U / J bends, one straight piece, a left over diesel muffler, and a 3 - 4" adapter.

I figured I could throw it up here and just mention its really not too hard to make.

That 4" actually is probably lighter than the old one.

Bring me the car and the muffler i'll do it in on a saturday

The only reason I say bring the car is cause its such a tight fit and I don't want to take my exhaust off just to match it.

So you welded that on the floor and somehow managed to snake it over the axle in the car? If so I'm impressed.

it looks like there is a slip fit connection where it kicks up in front of the axle

Spot on there.

You can see where the pipe is "buffed" at the weld joint just before the axle that's where the slip fit is.

I'll try this weekend. Its actually pretty quiet due to the turbo.

Your the third person to ask me that. If I get a few more maybe I'll make a weekend out of it and build a few systems.

Dirt cheap of course compared to mufflex

Awesome, I will have to bring it next spring. The car is currently in the process of an LS swap.

I would have to look up all the parts I used again.

Also, I have a wholesale tire and exhaust supplier. So what I pay and what you can get it for might be a bit different.

Re: 4" For Fun

Also interested in a setup if you decide to make a few. Ive got a 454 single turbo that right now kicks out behind the front tire. Ive got some a long straight piece already so I would really only need the bit from just past the straight to the back + a very quiet muffler.

If its prices around a couple hundred for just that I'd be a buyer ASAP.

For the OP, this may be a good kit to start with then modify for the third gens on the cheap. I just ordered one to see how much modding it'll need. I'll keep you informed.
