O2 bung size?

I need to weld in a bung into my long tube headers to accept a heated o2 sensor. What size bung/threads do I need?

Re: O2 bung size?

I know this is going to sound stupid, but it's true nonetheless...

You need O2 bung size.

They're kinda like spark plugs, except instead of 2 thread sizes like those, there's only one. Even easier.

No need to outsmart yourself over what that is; just buy an O2 bung and be done with it.

Some things just aren't worth worrying about.

Re: O2 bung size?

Thanks for the information. I may have been overthinking it a bit. However, I am a planner and don't like buying incorrect parts, or doing a job twice.

It's 18mm just like an old Ford spark plug

Re: O2 bung size?

Sofaking's response is actually better than it may seem. Back when I bought my headers, I had no idea that you could buy an O2 sensor bung. Instead, I spent an exorbitant amount of time and money trying to find an 18mm tap so that I could make my own out of 1/4" steel.
