flowmaster

Would a 80 series flowmaster be louder than a magnaflow mpe-12267?

Re: flowmaster

not sure about if that part number is supposed to be a super loud one, but i would say yes, every magnaflow i've ever heard has always been way too subtle and quiet sounding for my taste. i have an 80 series with no cat and it is pretty loud even with the old LB9, curious to see how it is with the new motor......

flows are louder than a magnaflow . I have the 12267 magnaflow and it is noticeable ,but not obnoxious like a flowmaster is

Re: flowmaster

First you should know that those two mufflers sound much different than the other.

The flowmaster 80 series I believe is the loudest crossflow muffler out there.
At idle the Flowmaster is probably twice as loud as the Magnaflow crossflow muffler.

The 80 series Flowmaster is what they use on the Flowmaster 3in. American Thunder CAT back.

The 3in pipe including the exit/tips gives it a deeper tone than stock pipe so if you're just installing the muffler it will have the Flowmaster sound but the tone maybe a little different than the 3in. system.
