New Cat-Back Exhaust System for the 82
Well I'm about to replace the old Walker catalytic converter and exhaust system of my Trans Am with a Dynomax Super Turbo 2.5'' Cat-Back Exhaust and a Magnaflow 2.5'' High Flow Cat. The old Quiet-Flow muffler has a 2.5'' inlet and dual 2.25'' outlets.
On the pictures below, you can see that the Y-pipe was cut in the end and welded to another tube.
Looks like the stock Y-Pipe to me. Does anybody know what kind of pipe is welded to it? Looks GM like.
The cat. is connected with a clamp in front.
On the back the mystery welding. The cat. was welded to that unknown tube and hanger, and that tube to the intermediate pipe.
The exhaust manifolds seem to be untouched. I will try to get the L69 manifolds or headers, but would prefer the stock look
