Firebird Passenger's Side Exhaust Ugly, Camaros No
Is the Camaro exhaust routed differently than Firebirds? T/A's and Formulas always show the passenger side exhaust pipe, just exiting the header. Plus, with most aftermarket exhaust, the pipe is even more noticeable.
Camaro's don't seem to have the same routing, yes?
Photos of Camaro underside show the exhaust routing more towards the car's centerline. Was this an aftermarket mod, or was there a difference in exhaust routing between V8 Camaros & T/As?

There is exactly zero difference in how the pipes are routed, sizes might vary though. It might have to do with differences in the ground effects or just plain lack of them.

Camaro vs Firebird: cupholders & stickers contest.
Other than that, ALL BUT identical. Flip em upside down, where you can't be distracted by the shiny things any more, they're THE SAME CAR. Absolutely IDENTICAL in every way that matters. (which is to say, FUNCTIONAL)
I think either you're hallucinating or haven't compared actually IDENTICAL models. L98 to L98, L69 to L69, etc. Comparing a LG4 Camaro to a LB9 Bird, or L69 Camaro to L03 Bird... gets you nowhere. All you're comparing is the engines. The sheet metal wrinkles and stickers and extra-long nose and STICKERS and such as that, make no difference at all to the parts that actually DO SOMETHING.
Ground effects make no difference either; they're about a foot out of the way at the closest. No need to change anything FUNCTIONAL because of some plastic appliqué.

When I did my engine swap and had the exhaust out, I painted my y-pipe black with vht paint to make it not as noticeable (I also replaced the cat with a cutout and welded it all solid, painted all that too)

The exhaust is definitely more visible on cars without GFX. It doesn't affect the exhaust in any way, but they do make a difference when it comes to the visibility of the exhaust.
