AIR/smog pump delete
Ok fellas, show me the way.
305 CrossFire No CAT, haven't had one for 7yrs....true dual exhaust from the heads back.
Chasing an annoying and inconsistent sound and removed my smog pump belt to see if that was it....wasn't it, and attached video lets you hear the noise when it's on the quiet side. Anyway, got me to thinking....TONS of AIR crap under the hood....do I need it all? ND is a non emission state and as I said I haven't had a cat in many years...so with no cat should I have all this smog stuff? The smog pump had it's own belt and pulley so no biggie in removing.
Research shows ditch the AIR system and plug it off but keep the EGR setup...I don't want to deal with a check engine light either.
Benefits?Thoughts?Yes or no?

Re: AIR/smog pump delete
I removed all of it. Egr is a preference because EVERYONE has a different opinion it. Pump robs a little horsepower, but it's not a lot to notice, and yeah, just plug the air holes with minimal depth plugs. Only reason I really removed everything was to free up room for work, engine swap, and headers. But yeah, sounds like you're good to go.
