Straight pipe

I have a 1988 rs Camaro 2.8 v6 and I'm debating on getting headers and running an x- pipe and the straight piping it out the back, or running the x pipe to a flowmaster 80 series muffler, any thoughts? Which will create more power etc?

Re: Straight pipe

Run a muffler. It will sound awful without one.

Everyone will know that you just have a v6 with no exhaust, you don't want that. If you run a muffler you can make it sound decent.

No on Flowmaster, and no on straight pipe on a V6. They will sound worse than a D-Series Civic with a 6" fart can.

I had a stock 98 Z28 muffler on for a little bit and it sounded nice, but was quiet. I eventually put a Dynomax Turbo muffler on and it was okay. These V6s just don't sound nice at all. Buddy of mine's sounds pretty mean with a 3" Dynomax bullet, but he's got a turbo.
