What is this black box
I think this would be the best place to ask this, but I was wondering what this little black box is and what it does it has a single pipe running to the back of the smog pump.

probably some sore of a noise baffle to quiet down the AIR pump for NVH purposes.

Its the A.I.R. diverter valve. Diverts air to manifolds or the cat(s) depending on what is needed.

the square black thing is just a cover that you can easily pop off, the actual stuff and connections are under there
