Straight piping a 2.8 v6?
Straight piping a 2.8 v6?
Hi. I am brand new, forgive me if a thread for this topic has already been created, or if I'm posting In the wrong section.
I would like to make my maro louder, hopefully by straight piping. It has an okay sound to it, but I want to **** my neighbors off, you know?
I have a few concerns.
Will the change in back pressure effect the way the car runs.
Will I have any loss of power?
If so, is there a simple way around this?
The idea is, keep the stock headers, cat eliminate, straight pipes from the headers back. Is this feasible, or should I look into a different system? Thank you!

Umm, I borrow a friend's 2.8 truck a good bit.
He's a fan of changing exhaust. Often. With loud mufflers, or straight pipe. I've heard a lot of different exhaust options.
Take my word to keep it kinda stock, and don't make your car sound like masturbating hornets.

I had a dynomax super turbo cat back on my old 2.8 car. It sounded nice at idle and low rpms. But screamed weak v6 above 3k. Please dont straight pipe it

1) Take a dump in a paper bag
2) Set it on their doorstep, light bag on fire
3) Knock on door/ring doorbell
4) Stand at door and greet them and 'p-ss' them off like a man

Okay the first thing I want to say is welcome to the forums. The second thing I want to say is if you do it right your ride will not sound like a bunch of masturbating wasps. Cut out the origonal exhaust before it merges near the engine and toss the stuff. Then your gonna run dual exhaust. weld in a set of glass packs I used magna flow. Some flowmaster outlaw race mufflers will get rid of the rasp but they are 120 a peice so if u dont got the money glaspacks all the way. It will have a nice idle and around 2500 it starts screaming and doesnt sound half bad. its important you do dual exhaust though other wise its gonna sound terrible
