Noise coming from engine bay?
I have an '84 z28, and basically whenever i accelerate i hear sort of a hissing noise coming from the front end of my car and can't pin point it, when i take my foot off the gas the noise dissipates. I'm not sure if it would be a belt or something else and if someone could let me know what they think that would be great. P.S it does not sound like fluid escaping.

Sounds kinda like your cat has busted up inside and is now blocked, and maybe one of the AIR check valves has blow out as a result.
Don't drive it like that, really bad strange things can happen.
Park the car and pop the hood, and have your assistant put the car in gear and their foot on the brake and give it gas LIGHTLY, and see if you can pinpoint the source.

Does it do the hiss at a dead stop when given gas or just when driving?

I dont think it would be the catalytic converter but here's an interesting video of a third gen that had a catalytic converter issue.

No problem, but I suggest having someone look under the hood as you are lightly reviving it to help pinpoint the issue, as stupid as this sounds, maybe a little water on the belt as it is running?
