How to properly plug an un-used o2 sensor bung?
soooo....long story short, cruising around today I lost an o2 bung plug. It's right there in the collector of my SLPs. I moved the wideband to the Y pipe, and just plugged the old bung. Honestly don't remember what I used, but....it obviously wasn't done right. Since I can't get in there to weld, and I REALLY don't wanna take the header off....is there any type of bolt/sealant? JB weld and a big bolt? High temp epoxy???? No need to salvage future use. If it was off I'd weld it. More permanent the better.

I think I used an oil drain plug last time. ....but no sealant/epoxy/weld etc. etc. just wrenched it down.

I've never tried it, but this product looks interesting.

If the goal is to never get it back out, I would think you could just crossthread it in there. Or the marginally less barbaric alternative, mechanically booger the threads of the plug, in effect making an ad hoc locking fastener. Thinking of all the stuck 02 sensors a person encounters, one would think you could just carefully screw in a new O2 sensor with antiseize and it'd become stuck in short order.

lots of good options mentioned.
can't put another plug in there and tack it with a stick welder? sometimes you can bend the rod first to get to tight spots.

You can always drill a hole in a hex headed 18mm plug and safety wire it.

I used a drain plug, which looked exactly like that "plug" mentioned. I wrenched it pretty tight, but obviously not enough because it backed out.
...might be able to tack it.

Belleville maybe? With an E? ....like in air regulator? Makes sense. My paintball guns all use belleville washers in the regs.
REGARDLESS of right or wrong, I just mixed up some high temp JB weld and wrenched down an 18mmx1.5 drain plug. I mean wrenched that sucker.
We shall see.

Use a spark plug, an Autolite #386 threads right in and can be had at any auto supply store. Or just ask them for any cheap spark plug with 18mm threads.

Copper washer should seal it and lock it no problem.

a tac weld on it would be fine, I also like the idea of chowdering up the threads a little bit, I'd probably try that first.

With the vibration and heat cycles that sees the epoxy would probably eventually fail. Just stop by whatever exhaust shop you're driving by and have put a spot weld on with a mig welder. Mig spot welds are easy to cut off in case you decided on the future you want to use it.
