Re: need help choosing an exhaust

The only thing that kills Flowmaster for me is the performance. It sounds great and unique, but the flow is not there. At some point, I'm probably going to drop a 350 in this slowpoke and I'm just getting the other components ready for that kind of thing. The electric cutout just seems like a ***** thing to me for some reason IDK. I'm starting to lean more towards no on the electric cutout because IDK how the car will react.

You can get just the Magnaflow muffler for $120 and keep the stock system.. don’t need the whole Cat back system unless your pipes are shot..

Re: need help choosing an exhaust

I will try all of this. If there is one thing I want more than anything in this car, it's to deaden the rattles so thanks so much for the info! I have 2 12's in the back on 1500 watts and I feel like the whole car is falling apart every time the bass hits. I will do Dynamat at some point too, but that's something I don't necessarily need right now. Also since I'm already here, I have a couple more questions. Sorry, I'm trying to get as much info on this car as I can so when I do finally see it, I can get some stuff done (Mom lives 4 hours away. Car is with her).

The car shakes back and forth and makes noise when I shift the gears (Automatic Transmission). Motor mounts or something else?
The temp gauge needle keeps getting stuck behind the cluster trim piece. How can I make it stop doing that?
Is there a light under the middle two air vents?
The car won't start if I don't give it throttle? Carburetor cleaning maybe?

Do a search for your issues on here.. I have found answers to every problem I’ve ever had on here..

Also found some very rare convertible parts I was looking for for years!

Maybe be do a tune up on the car?

check the plugs, cap, rotor, wires, air filter, etc

change the fuel filter.. I knew people that thought their car was dead and when they changed the fuel filter, BOOM started right up

You have TBI, right?
Do basic easy maintenance and see if it gets better. Do a search on here and you’ll find lots of different people who have solved the same problem with starting.

Re: need help choosing an exhaust

Air filter replace every 3000 miles if K&N clean in soapy water rinse out and let dry
Oil and filter change every 3000 miles or 3 months. I generally change filters between oil changes.
Fuel filter change every 10,000 miles
Transmission and filter change every 10-15,000 miles and please add a large transmission cooler $40.00 to cool the fluid saves life of a tranny.
Rear axle fluid change every 20,000 miles

some people have a different idea of when to xhange these items but this has been my routine.
