Good headers for dual straight
Hey guys, I've tried a few different headers in my 82 trans am and I can't find any that won't hit the frame, I'm not looking for headers to bolt into the existing y-pipe, any suggestions will be appreciated. Also I'm dirt poor

If your dirt poor you should probably cut and hammer till the ones you have work. I spent over $400 on mine and had to cut hammer and weld before I had clearance everywhere.

If they need to be lower in the rear their might be something up with the trans mount. Was it converted to a 3 speed trans?

I don't ever see many 82's in person. But I didn't think any third gens came with three speeds. I would think it should have a 700r4. I know people on here would know for sure. If someone did change it befor you bought it that could be the source of your problem if they mounted the rear of the trans to high or put a real tall trans mount on it.
