1995 k1500 y pipe

Hey guys I have the 305 tbi and planning on stepping up to the 350 tbi later. Im not looking to burn rubber but pulling towing torque. I want to know if the factory y pipe is robbing power? Would I benifit running duals? Thanks

I can answer that.

The Y-pipe isn't going to get you anything. Those truck motors are slugs, good for torque and nothing else. (I have a 95 k2500).

Thanks red leader 289 I thought that was what was already on there from the factory was a y pipe. It has a pipe coming off both sides with the drivers side going into the other then into the cat. Isn't that considered a y pipe? I was wanting to know if duals would help or is it worth it.

Itll help a little if you have headers and high flow cats and mufflers. But apparently the camshaft is the bottleneck

Sorry, yeah what's on there now is a Y-pipe. True duals will get you more sound but that's about it.
