I Need New Exhaust
My 89' Rs 305 TBI Has No Exhaust At All The Cat Was Chopped Off and its Nothing Left Just a Pipe Under The Passengers Floor...I Want to Get Flowmaster American Thunder Catback but that Bolts Up to the Rear part of the Cat...is It Still Possible to Weld a Pipe in Place or am i just Screwed? This sounds Horrible

Custom exhaust shop should be able to weld up anything you want to the front pipe.. might cost you $500-700 including muffler.. probably don’t need a cat..

Re: I Need New Exhaust
Headers will change the tone and give you a little more HP but not dramatically different than a cat delete/Flowmaster Exhaust.. it’s more money to get headers.. up to you.. you could switch to true dual exhaust too.. could spend $2000 building custom exhaust and drive out of there in a few hours..
I personally don’t go for the “waking up the neighbors” sound since I did that in my 20s and am over it.. but headers, cat delete and Flowmaster will get you some volume at idle at throttle for sure.. even without the headers the cat delete and Flowmaster is loud..

When I had no cat and the 80 series Flowmaster my neighbors would call the cops on me for noise and it definitely crackles and pops when you let off the throttle in low gear..

Magnaflow makes a great bolt-on cat back system in stainless for the same or less than a custom system.

Trust Me, Loud and Obnoxious gets old quickly.. Been there, done that... I like to hear the car run, but also love my tunes and talking to my passengers or phone calls.. My cheap DynoMax super turbo cat back is fine for that... and still gets compliments for sounding good..
