Magnaflow 16450 y-pipe is available again

Just got notice that the Magnaflow 16450 y-pipe is in stock again - was out of production for almost 3 years.

Fits the 86 to 92 TPI manifolds and is a great upgrade for those who don't want to spend the time or money to go headers. Have one on the GTA.

Unless they were old stock, they were taking orders when they started up production again. At least they aren't vaporware anymore.

Re: Magnaflow 16450 y-pipe is available again

Does this change the sound much? Or is it strictly a power adder?

What are the size differences (L98 Y-pipe vs Magnaflow Y-pipe)

Not much - it flows better and is 409 SS, not coated steel.

I know the Magnaflow is 2.5", the stock one may be a bit smaller, but is definitely not mandrel bent. Worth 5hp on a stock TPI, maybe 7 to 9hp on a modified one over stock.

Yes, same one.

How do you like it? Others may want to go that route.

Re: Magnaflow 16450 y-pipe is available again

It's great. I have nothing to compare to in reference because I was swapping engines and types, so I can't say it gave me any extra power or anything, but it fit the bill on stock TPI exhaust routing with my LS swap and I wanted stainless. It saved me a lot of time trying to fab my Y pipe from scratch.

Was it a simple bolt on with your LS swap? I have a set of '02 stock manifolds to bolt to?

No, cut and weld, but it was a great starting point
