Borla Exhaust Restrictor Plates...how Well Do They Work?

Hey, all you guys with Borla cat-backs on 3rd &4th gens, how much sound & power difference do you REALLY hear & feel with the various restrictors:? The Borla for these cars is unique ,in that it allows you to "tune" sound & performance with these different sized openings. Does the 1-in & larger make the car FEEL any faster due to bypassing the muffler more & causing less back-pressure? Does it sound kinda untuned or raw, because out the r/s tail-pipe quite a bit of untuned/ unmuffled exhaust passes, especially at WOT? Or does it blend with the rest of the sound nicely and just sound "rich;/ powerful, etc"? And how about at idle, part throttle, etc:? I'm curious, on their web-sight it looks like a interesting design, but they do not talk at all about how it works. I'm thinking of getting one, theyre not cheap. I want to fully understand them. Sounds like lots of you out there use em. Thanks.

I have one on my 87 T/A, and love the way it soundes, I run it with no plate, They are hard to install, what I mean is the tips are hard to get even. Some guys have had a real hard time with them, and have sent the system back to were they bought it, If you do buy one, start at the back of the car first to try to get the tips even, other then that, I like mine, I dont know what it sounds like with the plates, maybe someone eles can help you with that.

I have it also. I Run with no plates either and never did with a plate . I didn't really like the sound too much at first when I had no headers my flowmaster was louder and better sounding i think. but when I installed the headers it sounded a whole lot better and louder
